Burger’s ‘Salkehatchie’ released in March
Former Post and Courier columnist Ken Burger will see the third novel in his South Carolina trilogy released March 4. “Salkehatchie Soup” follows the publication of “Swallow Savannah” and “Sister Santee.”
Evening Post Books and Morris Nissan will host a free book launch and author signing 1-4 p.m. March 2 at the dealership, 1714 Savannah Highway.
Salkehatchie Soup will be available March 4 for $26.95 online at www.evening postbooks.com and www.amazon.com, at The Post and Courier, 134 Columbus St., and at local bookstores. Bulk sales are available upon request by contacting Evening Post Books at 958-7367.
Local historian to sign books in Beaufort
Alexander Moore, historian and author of “The Fabric of Liberty: The Society of the Cincinnati of the State of South Carolina,” will speak about his latest book and sign copies at noon Thursday at the Beaufort Yacht & Sailing Club, 30 Yacht Club Drive.
The free event is sponsored by the Beaufort County Historical Society and is open to the public.
“The Fabric of Liberty” provides an insightful look at the establishment of the Society of Cincinnati of the State of South Carolina.
