A second suspect was charged today with murder in the Aug. 18 shooting death of Dominique Grant at Frazier’s Club, the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Detectives charged Derrick S. Brown Jr., 21, of Chinnis Side Road, Ravenel, with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of violent crime.

The charges are a result of the continued investigation into Grant’s death.

Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitve Task Force on Wednesday arrested Reginal L. Gordon, 23, of Ashley Avenue, in connection with the slaying. Gordon was charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

According to detectives, Brown, acting in concert with Gordon, shot Grant, 25, of West Ashley while she was in the driver’s side of a vehicle in the parking lot at the club.

Brown reportedly was involved in an altercation at another location earlier in the evening of the shooting, and he thought that the individuals responsible for the earlier assault were in a vehicle in the parking lot of Frazier’s Club, authorities said.
