A 23-year-old Charleston man has been accused of gunning down a 25-year-old West Ashley woman outside a Ravenel nightclub. Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitve Task Force on Wednesday arrested Reginald L. Gordon, of Ashley Avenue, in connection with the Aug. 18 slaying, according to a news release from Charleston County Sheriff’s Maj. Jim Brady.
Gordon was charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, Brady said.
Authorities say Gordon shot Dominique Grant while she sat in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked outside Club Frazier’s at 4971 County Line Road in Ravenel.
Gordon was seen at the club armed with a black semi-automatic pistol prior to the shooting, Brady said.
Charleston police were called to a Kangaroo gas station at 106 Main Road shortly after the shooting in reference to a disturbance, Brady said.
A black pistol was found in a white Buick Century during that investigation. Brady said Gordon was identified as the vehicle’s driver.
Shell casings from the weapon matched those found at the scene of the homicide, Brady said.
The investigation is ongoing, but authorities are not searching for any additional suspects, Brady said.
Gordon is expected to have a bond hearing today at 7 p.m. today, Brady said.
