West Ashley, a No. 1 seed in the girls’ Class AAAA state playoffs, scored often and settled the issue early in a 70-31 homecourt victory tonight over Fort Dorchester.
The Wildcats jumped to a 32-7 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back as they extended their winning streak to 10 games.
The Wildcats, who improved to 21-1, host North Augusta in the second round on Friday. North Augusta advanced with a 63-48 victory over Carolina Forest. Fort Dorchester finished with a 4-18 record.
Dekeyia Cohen led the victory with 35 points.
