What: The Symphonic Band celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Birmingham Campaign — the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement — with A Movement for Rosa. The program will feature works inspired by the Civil Rights Movement.

Tuesday Palmetto Archaeology Lecture Series
What: Nicole Isenbarger will discuss Colonoware, a pottery that is a no-longer-practiced folk tradition, and how the enslaved used it in their daily lives for cooking, cultural identity, marketing activities and more. There will be plenty of time for Q&A and discussion. The event is hosted by Archaeological Research Collective, Inc.

Feb. 23 Workshop
What: This multi-generational workshop with Christine Mitchell allows participants (ages 5-adult) to embellish creative, handmade paper masks with their own designs that highlight African culture. Participants will develop skills in identifying where certain masks originate and their cultural functions. Parents/grandparents can work together with child/grandchild to make a mask or make their own for an additional fee. Kids age 7 and under must be accompanied by adult. Registration ends one week prior to workshop.
