CLEMSON - Three former Clemson standouts, including Berkeley High product Andre Ellington, have been invited to participate in the NFL Combine Feb. 20-26 in Indianapolis.

Ellington will be joined by DeAndre Hopkins and Malliciah Goodman.

Former Clemson center Dalton Freeman, an All-ACC performer in 2012, was not invited.

The Combine figures to be most important for Hopkins, whose speed is in question. If the 6-foot-2, 190-pound receiver posts a quality 40-yard dash time to go along with his flypaper hands and elite body control he could jump from a second-round prospect to a first-round prospect.

Ellington’s ability to perform could be in question after he sustained a hamstring injury last month. The former Clemson running back logged back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2011 and 2012. He projects as a mid- to late-round pick.
