Wando’s Rudder Brown among 23 signees for Citadel football

Wando High School wide receiver Rudder Brown is among 23 high school football players who have signed national letters of intent with The Citadel today.

Among the latest signees are wide receiver Jorian Jordan (6-1, 170) of Mallard Creek HS in Charlotte; linebacker Tevin Floyd (6-1, 225) of Tallahassee, Fla.; and quarterback Cam Jackson (6-2, 185) of Mobile, Ala.

The only verbal commitment who has yet to sign a letter of intent is cornerback James Julius of Evans High School in Orlando, Fla. He was once committed to Pitt.

The Bulldogs also have signed quarterback Jantzen Jeffrey (6-1, 200) of South Forsyth High School in Cumming, Ga. Jeffrey also received an offer from Air Force. Linebacker Nick Jeffreys (6-3, 235) of Oklahoma City also signed; The Citadel likes him as a tight end.

Shrine Bowl lineman Isaiah Pinson (6-3, 240) of powerhouse Byrnes High School and defensive back Dee Delaney (6-1, 180) of Whale Branch HS have signed from in-state schools.

Brown, 6-4 and 210 pounds, faxed in his letter of intent this morning, The Citadel announced. So did kicker Will Vanvick of J.L. Mann High School in Greenville, and defensive end Jake Smith (6-5, 225) of Greenville HS.

The Citadel signed a trio from Pennsylvania: Running backs Forrest Barnes (5-11, 190) and Jonathan Dorogy (5-7, 175), both of Seneca Valley High School, and lineman Ryan Bednar (6-1, 283) of South Allegheny (Pa.) HS.

The Citadel also has received letters of intent from running back Devan Robbins (5-11, 175) of South Point HS in Belmont, N.C.; and defensive back Tyus Carter (6-0, 170) of Shades Valley HS in Birmingham, Ala.
