The trial for a man accused of killing a North Charleston couple is expected to begin today.

Jury selection for the double homicide case against Rick Morrocco Williams, 27, of St. Stephen began this morning in a Charleston County courtroom.

Williams is charged with the murders of Nathaniel Lonnie, 58, and Angela Ferguson, 44, who were both shot in the head and found inside their apartment at 2110 Durant Ave. in North Charleston.

Williams is accused of shooting the couple on New Year’s Eve of 2010.

It’s Williams’ second trial. In February, a judge declared a mistrial in his case.

After two days of testimony a juror sent the judge a note saying that his son had died by gunfire and he realized he should have disclosed that information. But since the judge had already dismissed the alternate jurors, she declared a mistrial.
