SUMMERVILLE — A new ambulance station might built alongside the town fire station on Trolley Road in the siren busy Oakbrook commuter suburb.
Dorchester County is negotiating with Summerville to subdivide and sell a parcel of the lot where the Waring fire station sits near Dorchester Road. The idea is to provide an ambulance bay, dorm and day room facilities for emergency services crews now staffed at the fire station.
“It’s one of our busiest medic areas,” said County Administrator Jason Ward. The county already has budgeted money to buy and build the ambulance station.
