Suspicious fire damages Summerville home

Summerville police are investigating a suspicious fire that damaged a duplex in Summerville this morning.

Earlier reports suggested police had a suspect in custody, but police Capt. Jon Rogers said no one has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A structure fire caused significant damage to a duplex at 110 Bryan St. at 4:30 a.m., the Summerville Fire and Rescue Department reports.

Firefighters arrived at the home and saw flames blowing out of the front of the house, Battalion Chief Ronnie Bryant said.

At least two people were at the home when the flames ignited, but no one was injured, Bryant said.
