A fire this morning caused extensive damage to at an apartment building on Farm Road in Goose Creek, authorities said.

One woman was injured, and she was transported to Trident Medical Center for care, Goose Creek Fire Chief Steve Chapman said.

The blaze was reported around 8:30 a.m. and it quickly spread through the 12-unit building at 105 Farm Road, damaging about a half-dozen units, Chapman said. The fire traveled through a common attic, damaging several units on the second floor, he said.

The fire took crews about 90 minutes to bring under control, Chapman said.

There was no initial estimate on how many people were displaced by the fire, as many residents were gone at work when the fire started.
