South Carolina goaltender Ryan Zapolski made 29 saves for his ECHL-leading fourth shutout of the season as the Stingrays (23-22-1-3) scored a 2-0 victory Friday night over the Gwinnett Gladiators (27-18-2-1).

Stingrays defenseman Luka Vidmar broke a scoreless tie 9:59 into the second period, lifting a wrist shot from the point over the glove of Gladiators netminder Louis Domingue, who had 23 saves. Forward Phil Mangan and defenseman Cameron Brodie picked up assists.

Stingrays forward Hunter Bishop sealed the victory with his team-leading 20th goal of the season, scoring an unassisted goal by tipping a bouncing puck into an empty net with 51 seconds to play in the game.

The Stingrays and Gladiators battle again today at 7 p.m., with the Stingrays returning for a game Friday at 7 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum against the Evansville IceMen.
