1st Congressional District candidates to make rounds in Charleston this weekend
Most 1st Congressional District candidates are expected to appear together Saturday morning in Goose Creek.
It will be their first major joint appearance since the crowded field took shape Monday.
The candidates will appear at the county party’s monthly breakfast, which starts at 9 a.m. at 116 Howe Hall Road in Goose Creek.
State Rep. Andy Patrick also is set to appear at several later events, including: Single Smile Café in Summerville at 11 a.m.; Gilligan’s At The Docks in Moncks Corner at 12: 45p.m.; at the Music Man BBQ in Moncks Corner at 1:30 p.m. He will wrap up the day at 3 p.m. by visiting the Food Truck Festival in Charleston at Marion Square.
Former Gov. Mark Sanford announced he will hold three campaign events Monday in Beaufort County.
Such events are expected to become even more frequent in the run-up to the March 19 primaries. Sixteen Republicans and three Democrats are seeking the seat vacated by when Tim Scott was appointed to the U.S. Senate.
