Pro Performance Baseball Academy has opened in the Velocity Sports Performance facility, 411 Wando Park Blvd., Mount Pleasant.
Pro Performance Baseball Academy is designed for young players for all skill levels and players interested in playing Little League, travel ball, B-team, JV or varsity baseball.
The instruction centers on proper pitching and hitting techniques, visual mechanics, live batting practice, and strength and conditioning training. Players also will develop rotational power to hit the long ball, gain agility for better range of motion and reduce injury by developing flexibility, stability and proper balance.
A grand opening is scheduled 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 9 and will include free player skills and strength evaluations and interactive demonstrations for T-Ball, Minor, Major, Pitching and Hitting. Washington Nationals player Brandon Miller also will be on hand along with Pro Performance Baseball Academy founder Tim Gansrow and former College of Charleston players Josh McLaughlin and Chris Campbell.
