Drugs, gun confiscated in search of Line Street apartment, police say
Charleston police say they arrested two men after drugs and a pistol were found Tuesday night in a Line Street apartment.
Police confiscated about 23/4 ounces of cocaine, 2 ounces of cocaine base and a pistol after they executed a search warrant at the apartment, spokesman Charles Francis said.
Ricardo Williams, 33, of Shadowglen Drive in North Charleston, and Peter Demeter Brown, 39, of Ashton Street in Charleston, were arrested in connection with the search, Francis said.
Police charged both men with trafficking cocaine base, trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute within close proximity of a school, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Francis said.
Information provided by a concerned citizen triggered the investigation, Francis said.
Both Williams and Brown were being held at the Charleston County jail Wednesday awaiting a bond hearing.
Francis said the investigation is ongoing.
