Mount Pleasant road work will mean detours Friday and Saturday night
Work on the new U.S. 17 road network in Mount Pleasant will close an I-526 interchange and sections of nearby roads Friday and Saturday night, according to project managers.
An I-526 intersection and U.S. 17 between Hungryneck Boulevard and Venning Road will be closed from 10:30 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Saturday and from 10:30 p.m. Saturday to 7:30 a.m. Sunday, according to Gulf Stream Construction.
Crews will be painting new bridge girders.
Here are the detour routes:
•U.S. 17 north — Bowman Road to Mathis Ferry Road to U.S. 17. Rifle Range can be accessed by turning right at the Wando Crossing shopping center to Stuart Engals Boulevard to Bowman Road.
•U.S. 17 south — Mathis Ferry Road
•Hungryneck Boulevard — Venning Road
•U.S. 17 north to I-526 west — Drivers can use that 526 interchange
•U.S. 17 south to I-526 west — Use Longpoint Road I-526 interchange
