Middle school student struck by vehicle in Mount Pleasant
A student was struck by a vehicle in front of Moultrie Middle School this morning, authorities say.
The wreck happened on Coleman Boulevard. Witnesses reported seeing fire trucks, paramedics and police at the scene.
One motorist reported seeing a pedestrian under a car. Police have not responded to requests for more information.
Charleston County School District spokesman Jason Sakran said the pedestrian was an eighth grade student at Moultrie Middle.
Paramedics transported the student to Medical University Hospital’s trauma center in serious condition, Charleston County EMS Director Don Lundy said.
