Charleston police say they arrested two men after drugs and a gun were found in a Line Street apartment Tuesday night.

Police confiscated 78 grams of cocaine, 58 grams of cocaine base and a pistol after they executed a search warrant at the apartment, spokesman Charles Francis said.

Ricardo Williams, 33, of Shadowglen Drive in North Charleston, and Peter Demeter Brown, 39, of Ashton Street in Charleston, were arrested in connection with the search.

Police charged Williams with trafficking cocaine base, trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute within close proximity of a school, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Francis said.

Brown was charged with trafficking cocaine base, trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute within close proximity of a school, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Francis said.

Information provided by a concerned citizen triggered the investigation, Francis said.

Both Williams and Brown are being held at the Charleston County jail.

Francis said the investigation is ongoing.
