Three Georgetown men charged in chase along Charleston County line
Three Georgetown men were arrested Monday after leading authorities on a chase along the Charleston County border.
On Monday, Mount Pleasant police asked Sheriff’s deputies from Charleston and Georgetown counties for help pursuing a van on Highway 17 North about 4 a.m., Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Carrie Cuthbertson said.
The van was believed to be carrying two stolen motorcycles, Cuthbertson said.
Deputies deployed Stop Sticks, which Cuthbertson said punctured the van’s right, front tire.
The van came to a rest in the median and three men ran into a wooded area nearby, Cuthbertson said.
Lamont Orange Deas, 34, of Oatland Road, Brandon Priest, 29, of Sutton Road and Adrian Marcus Robinson, 21, of Luther Trail were apprehended in the woods and turned over to Mount Pleasant police.
Police charged all three men with grand larceny and failure to stop for blue lights.
Deas received an additional charge of driving under suspension, jail records show.
