A Goose Creek man’s computer had more than 400 videos containing child pornography and documents with instructions on the sexual abuse of children, according to officials with the S.C. Attorney General’s Office.

Deangelo Cornell Young, 25, of Chatfield Cir., was charged with 16 counts involving the sexual exploitation of a minor. On Dec. 11 and 13, an undercover detective with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office downloaded five files with child pornography that traced back to Young’s home, according to a news release from the S.C. Attorney General’s Office.

On Jan. 23, investigators seized two laptop computers and three computer hard drives from Young. He later admitted to downloading child pornography, authorities said.

If convicted, Young faces the possibility of 20 years in prison. A $160,000 bail was set, and Young was ordered not to have contact with children younger than 17. He also must refrain from using the Internet and electronic devices such as cell phones and computers, and he must remain at least one-half mile away from areas, such as schools, where children might be.

As of 2 p.m. today, Young still remained in jail at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center.
