Grant will support veterans’ housing in Charleston
The Wells Fargo Housing Foundation has awarded a $50,000 matching grant to a local group to help build rental housing for veterans in Charleston.
The money would help the group known as PASTORS, Inc. to construct rental housing for veterans on property owned by Wallingford Presbyterian Church at 711 King St.
The PASTORS organization is serving as the developer for the project. The City of Charleston provided an initial grant of $99,000 from investment partnership program funding.
The project will include the renovation of an existing structure and the construction of two additional structures at the site.
