Clemson football bolsters class with three commitments: Marcus Edmond, T.J. Green and Zach Riggs

CLEMSON - Clemson football added volume to its 2013 recruiting class Sunday, picking up commitments from three-star cornerback Marcus Edmond, receiver/defensive back T.J. Green and tight end Zach Riggs, according to multiple recruiting service reports.

Edmond is a 6-foot, 165-pound prospect from Lower Richland who also had offers from Arizona, N.C. State and Wake Forest. He can also play receiver.

Green (Sylacauga, Ala.) was committed to UAB but the 6-foot-3, 195-pound athlete switched to Clemson over the weekend.

Riggs is a legacy commitment. The 6-foot-5, 240-pound J.L. Mann tight end is the son of former Clemson and NFL tight end Jim Riggs. He has been offered a preferred walk-on opportunity.

Clemsonís had been unranked by both Rivals.com and Scout.com entering Sunday but the commitments moved Clemson up to No. 22 in the Rivals.comís top 25.

Clemson now has 19 commitments in its class. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said he expects to sign between 24 and 21 players in 2013.
