SPARTANBURG -- Trent Wiedeman scored 17 points, pulled down nine rebounds and Theo Johnson added 12 points to lead the College of Charleston past Wofford, 79-50, Saturday night before a capacity crowd at Benjamin Johnson Arena.
The Cougars (14-7, 6-3 in SoCon) led by as many as 32 points in the second half and dominated from beginning to end. The Terriers dropped to 8-13 and 2-6.
Johnson, a junior, came off the bench and connected on three of four 3-pointers for the Cougars.
Anthony Stitt added 12 points.
The Cougars used a 17-4 run to start the game, opened up a 20-point lead late in the first half and never looked back.
The Cougars will take on Appalachian State Wednesday night beginning at 7 p.m., at TD Arena.
