CLEMSON - Clemson president James Barker was released from Greenville Memorial Hospital on Friday just a week after undergoing emergency quintuple bypass heart surgery.

Barker released a letter to Clemson staff Friday:

“I write today with good news. My superb medical team is satisfied with my progress, and I’ve been released to continue my rest and rehab regimen at home. My only job now is to follow their excellent advice.”

Barker remains on indefinite medical leave as he begins the rehab process.
