COTTAGEVILLE — The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office on Friday was investigating the death of a teen found to have suffered a gunshot wound.
Officials received a 911 call at 2:48 p.m. Friday from a female at a Rehoboth Road residence stating that she found her brother with a fatal gunshot wound.
The victim is a 17-year-old male whose name was being withheld pending notification of next of kin. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident might be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, but is being worked as a homicide until it can be confirmed as a suicide, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
