Citadel falls to Campbell in wrestling, 25-13

The Citadel wrestling team dropped its first Southern Conference match of the season to Campbell, 25-13, on Wednesday at McAlister Field House.

The win was the first for Campbell (3-6, 2-1) over The Citadel in 11 years.

Odie Delaney, who earned his 108th career win, was victorious for the Bulldogs (3-4, 2-1) along with Summerville native Aaron Hansen, Ugi Khishignyam and Matt Frisch.

The Citadel will head to Chattanooga to take on the defending Southern Conference champion Mocs on Sunday.

Bulldogs 197-pounder Marshall Haas earned his first career SoConwrestler of the week award for his performance in The Citadel’s win over Appalachian State last Friday.

Track and field
Charleston Southern’s Daisy Whitaker was named Big South women’s indoor field athlete of the week. Whitaker, a junior from Camden, claimed the weight throw crown at the JDL Fast Track Invitational over the weekend. Her throw of 58 feet, 8 inches set a school and facility record.
