MUSC names new VP of clinical operations
Dr. Patrick Cawley has been named the CEO and vice president of clinical operations for the Medical University of South Carolina’s hospital system.
In his new role, Cawley will be accountable to the board of trustees and MUSC President Ray Greenberg for the operation and success of the hospital.
He replaces Dr. Stuart Smith, who retired from the position in December.
Cawley previously served the hospital as the chief medical officer. He teaches at MUSC and lives in Mt. Pleasant with his family.
