RiverDogs’ Saturday home games to start earlier

The Charleston RiverDogs are moving the start of Saturday home games to 6:05 p.m. for the upcoming season.

The RiverDogs, a Class A baseball affiliate of the New York Yankees, play all home games at Riley Park.

Home games on Monday through Friday will continue to start at 7:05 p.m.

Sunday games will start at 5:05 p.m.

The RiverDogs open the season April 4 at Greenville. Their home opener is April 11 against Augusta.

Phillies
Philadelphia signed former RiverDogs player Delmon Young to a one-year deal for $750,000, adding to their outfield depth. The 27-year-old outfielder batted .267 with 27 doubles, 18 homers and 74 RBIs for Detroit last season.

Dukes arrested
Police say former RiverDogs and Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Elijah Dukes was arrested on a warrant related to previous drug charges.Tampa police say the 28-year-old Dukes was arrested Monday night.

All-Star game
Cincinnati will host the 2015 All-Star game at Great American Ball Park, the city’s first since 1988.
