Judge sets bail for man accused in nightclub shooting
A Lincolnville man accused of shooting into a Ladson Road nightclub remains in jail after a Wednesday bond hearing.
Magistrate Judge Linda Lombard set bail for Keith Alextruss Williams, 22, of East Railroad Avenue at $550,000.
Williams said little during the hearing conducted by video at the Cannon Detention Center. When asked if he has a job or goes to school, he said he does “side work” like “lawn work and stuff like that.”
Williams was arrested Tuesday at his house and charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and an outstanding magistrate’s bench warrant for driving without a license, according to Charleston County sheriff’s Maj. Jim Brady.
Williams is one of several men accused of shooting into The Game Room nightclub at 3792 Ladson Road shortly after 3 a.m. Dec. 20.
An affidavit revealed Williams fired about 14 times and was identified as “opening the front door to the establishment and firing wildly into the crowd of patrons,” the document stated.
Gerren Nelson, 24, of West Carolina Street, Lincolnville, was wounded by gunfire and several others said they were assaulted. Police still are looking for two other men who fired shots, including the man believed to have shot Nelson, Brady said.
A surveillance video shows Williams with a gun standing in the doorway firing inside. Anybody with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 202-1700 or leave an anonymous tip at Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
