Phone service on Folly Beach will be curtailed for about two hours Thursday night because of bridge construction, according to text messages sent out to residents today.
Work on the new bridge will affect an AT&T phone line between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m., town officials said.
The work could knock out some cell phones and land-line calls outside the island for those two hours. An emergency network will allow 911 calls to be made.
