Man shot in hip in West Ashley
A man was shot in the hip in a West Ashley neighborhood tonight.
The man was shot about 8:40 p.m. at Davidson Avenue and East Street, according to Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis. The man ran to a house on 5th Avenue, where residents called police.
The man was taken to Medical University Hospital for treatment.
Police, including officers from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, are canvassing the area between Magnolia Avenue and S.C. Highway 61 looking for a suspect.
