11 Charleston County schools host public flu vaccination clinics starting today

Charleston County School District and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control are partnering to provide flu vaccination clinics across the county.

The flu vaccine dates and locations are:

Tuesday at Pinckney Elementary in Mount Pleasant;

Wednesday in North Charleston at Stall High's cafeteria and downtown at Burke High's Rhett building;

Thursday in the front lobbies of Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary in West Ashley and Murray-LaSaine Elementary on James Island;

Jan. 29 in the front lobbies of West Ashley High in West Ashley and Whitesides Elementary in Mount Pleasant;

Jan. 30 in the front lobby of E.B. Ellington in Ravenel and in the auditorium of North Charleston High;

Jan. 31 in the gym at Mary Ford Elementary in North Charleston and in the auditorium of St. John's High.

Eleven district schools will hold vaccination clinics until Jan. 31. Any county resident is welcome to receive a vaccination, and appointments are not necessary.

Students can receive the mist or a shot for $13; the vaccination is free to those who have Medicaid. Adult shots are $25, and Medicare and be billed.

All of the clinics will be held from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.
