Charleston County deputies find man missing from Richland County
Charleston County deputies on Tuesday found a 74-year-old man reported missing on Monday from Richland County.
Deputies responded to Highway 17 North near Seewee Road and found an abandoned 2013 Cadillac in the road about 4:15 a.m., Maj. Jim Brady said.
Deputies in the area found William Dent Leeke walking nearby at Guerins Bridge Road, Brady said. He appeared disoriented and confused, thought he was in Mississippi and didn’t recall driving to Charleston, an incident report said.
Family members on Monday reported Leeke missing in Richland County. He reportedly had medical issues, including a heart condition, the incident report stated.
Paramedics transported Leeke to Roper’s Mount Pleasant Hospital for a medical evaluation, where he was reunited with family, Brady said.
