CLEMSON — Clemson football picked up the 16th commitment for its 2013 class Sunday when four-star receiver Kyrin Priester (Snellville, Ga.) committed, according to multiple recruiting services.

Priester decommitted from N.C. State.

The 6-1, 180-pound Priester runs a 4.55-second 40-yard dash.

Priester’s recruiter of record is Mike Reed, the new Clemson defensive backs coach, who recruited Priester while he was at N.C. State.

The following is an excerpt of an ESPN.com scouting report on Priester:

“Priester is a wide receiver who combines size, deceptively good speed and elusiveness for a player of his height. He has a long, wiry frame and can be a little straight-lined, but he’s also flexible enough to get in and out of breaks and make defenders miss after the catch.”

Wide receiver is not an immediate need for Clemson. The Tigers do need to improve future depth at the position as star Sammy Watkins will be eligible for the 2014 NFL draft.
