Search for man on Ashley River to continue Tuesday
The search for a 64-year-old man who had been living on his boat in the Ashley River again was fruitless today.
Authorities on Tuesday will resume the effort to find Richard Sloane, who was described as 5-foot-9 and 150 pounds.
One of Sloane’s friends saw him on his boat at about noon Friday, and the same friend told officers Saturday that he hadn’t been able to locate Sloane since then, according to the Charleston Police Department.
Sloane’s boat was anchored in the Ashley River, and officials were searching today between the City Marina and Ashley Marina, police spokesman Charles Francis said.
Anyone with information about Sloane should call the police at 577-7434.
