Education

Bob McNamara has been named associate provost and dean of The Citadel Graduate College. Previously, he was associate dean of evening undergraduate studies and director of the 2 + 2 program in criminal justice at the military college. He has a bachelor’s degree in justice and law administration from Western Connecticut State University and a master’s degree in sociology and criminal justice from Southern Connecticut State University. He also has two master’s degrees and a doctorate in sociology from Yale University.

Engineering

Candace Mitchell has joined URS Corp. as a project manager in the urban development division of the firm’s North Charleston office. She has 12 years of experience in site development and transportation design. She has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of South Carolina.

Health care

Frances Porcher and Keaton Leigh Mims have joined Coastal Pediatric Associates as pediatric nurse practitioners.

Porcher has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Clemson University and advanced degrees from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Previously, she was with the Medical University of South Carolina’s pediatric emergency and critical care division.

Mims has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University. She works in the practice’s West Ashley and Mount Pleasant offices.

Law

J. Raleigh West III has joined Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd PA as an associate attorney in the firm’s Charleston office. His practice focuses on personal injury defense as well as business, financial, real estate and land use litigation. He has a bachelor’s degree in history and foreign languages from Wofford College, a master’s degree in business administration from The Citadel and a law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Previously, he was a project manager with The Trust for Public Land.

Jennie M. Smith has joined the Charleston office of Turner Padget Graham & Laney PA as an attorney. She concentrates her practice in insurance litigation. She has a bachelor’s degree from the Miami University, a master’s degree in business administration from The Citadel and a law degree from the Charleston School of Law.

Real estate

Kristen Corri Krause has joined the Mount Pleasant office of Avison Young as a commercial brokerage associate.

She specializes in retail, multifamily and investment brokerage representing landlords, tenants, and investors in negotiations, consulting and financial analysis.

Restoration services

Mark Mitchum, Megan Hammond and Alice Pooser have joined ServiceMaster of Charleston.

Mitchum is a disaster restoration sales and project manager. He has more than 23 years of sales experience.

Hammond is disaster restoration coordinator. She has a bachelor’s degree in social work from Troy University.

Pooser works in the marketing department handling public relations and social media. She has a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of South Carolina.

Restaurant

Marc Nelm has joined the Charleston Crab Shack as general manager of the West Ashley location and director of group and off-site sales. He attended the College of Charleston and the Culinary Institute of Chicago. Previously, he has worked in managerial positions for The Smith and Wollensky Restaurant Group in Chicago and Miami Beach.

Software

Tim Burris has joined North Charleston-based Omatic Software as product development manager. Previously, he was with Scientific Research Corp. and Blackbaud Inc.
