Dorchester County Sheriffs Office reopens after bomb threat
The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office headquarters building and county courtrooms in Summerville have been reopened after authorities investigated a bomb threat.
The offices are located on Deming Way, where an allegation was made that there was an explosive device inside a vehicle in the parking lot, according to sheriff’s Maj. John Garrison.
Bomb experts from the State Law Enforcement Division and the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office examined the vehicle and cleared the threat around 10 a.m., according to Garrison.
All of the offices had been closed since early this morning.
