Worker injured at downtown school construction site
A worker at the Charleston Progressive Academy construction site has been hospitalized after he was apparently jolted by electricity, police said.
The incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. at 382 Meeting St., Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis said.
Paramedics have transported the worker to a hospital, Francis said.
The worker’s identity and details of the mishap were not immediately available.
Charleston Progressive Academy is one of four downtown schools under construction to boost their seismic stability. Students were moved out in 2010 after engineering reports showed the buildings would fail in a serious earthquake.
