Citadel basketball drops 12th straight at Davidson, 70-38
DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Citadel basketball team has absorbed some beatings during its current 12-game losing streak, but few have been more comprehensive than the Bulldogs’ 70-38 loss at Davidson tonight.
The Citadel turned the ball over 26 times, shot 30.6 percent and failed to get a player into double figures while matching its longest skid since 2007-08. The Bulldogs fell to 3-13 overall and 0-6 in the Southern Conference.
Freshman Matt Van Scyoc led the Bulldogs with just eight points, while senior center Mike Groselle had seven.
De’Mon Brooks led Davidson (10-7, 5-1) with 15 points, and Jake Cohen added 12. The Wildcats took over sole possession of first place in the SoCon South Division as College of Charleston dropped to 4-2 with a loss at Georgia Southern.
The Citadel is at Georgia Southern on Saturday.
