North Charleston police arrested a man whose daughter was injured as he fled from store managers in a shoplifting on Wednesday, a report says.
Police arrived at Medical University Hospital about 10 a.m. in reference to a child with serious cuts and bruises to her body and face, an incident report states.
Hospital staff told police the child’s sister brought her there, and that she may have been injured during the commission of a crime.
Investigators located the girl’s father, Cozzack Green, 40, of Sanders Avenue in North Charleston, the report states.
Green told police he attempted to steal diapers and wipes from a CVS store about 9 a.m., and that the girl was injured while he fled from managers.
Police arrested Green late Wednesday and charged him with shoplifting and unlawful conduct toward a child, the report states.
He is being held at the Charleston County jail and is awaiting a bond hearing, the report states.
