A Berkeley County deputy rear-ended another in Goose Creek on Tuesday, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened about 5:30 p.m. on St. James Avenue near Fairfax Boulevard, Senior Trooper Bridget Wyant said.

Sheriff’s deputy Justice Jenkins, 33, of Summerville, was sitting in traffic behind a Ford pickup truck when a second deputy, Stacey Cross, 34, of Moncks Corner, rear-ended the fully marked Crown Victoria he was driving, Wyant said.

The impact forced Jenkins to rear-end the pickup truck, which contained a passenger who is a minor, Wyant said.

Cross was also driving a fully marked Crown Victoria, according to Wyant.

Paramedics transported all three drivers to Trident Medical Center for treatment, Wyant said.

Highway Patrol listed Cross as contributing to the wreck, but, according to Wyant, a citation has not been issued because the collision is still under investigation.
