A Mount Pleasant man was arrested on child-pornography charges after selling a laptop to a pawn shop.

Mount Pleasant police were called to Money Man Pawn Shop on Johnnie Dodds Boulevard. Jan. 4, according to an incident report. The manager said he was preparing to erase the hard drive of a laptop he had bought Dec. 18 when he discovered several videos of incest and child pornography, as well as a text document describing a sexual encounter between a father and his young daughter.The manager gave police the laptop and sales receipt with the previous owner’s information.

Police arrested Justin Michael Francis, 28, of Hunters Trace in Mount Pleasantand charged him with sexual exploitation of a minor.

Francis admitted to downloading the pornographic material, according to the S.C. Attorney General’s Office, which is prosecuting the case. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison

He was released on $25,000 bail and ordered to have no contact with children under age 18 and to stay away from the Internet, according to court records.
