Accounting

Ben Newton has been named a partner at Mount Pleasant-based Legare Bailey & Hinske LLC. Previously, he was an associate with the firm for more than three years. He is a certified public accountant and has more than 10 years of industry experience. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Clemson University and a master of accountancy from the College of Charleston.

Law

M. Kathleen “Katie” McTighe Mellen has joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP’s Charleston office as an associate attorney. She practices in the area of litigation. She has a bachelor’s degree in marine biology and psychology from the College of Charleston and a law degree from Charleston School of Law.

Susana Fernandez Herrero has joined Charleston-based Clore Law Group as a paralegal and Spanish interpreter. Previously, she was with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP in Washington, D.C. She has a law degree and a master’s degree in human resources from the Complutense University in Madrid and a master’s degree in international law from the American University Washington College of Law. She is registered as a nonpracticing attorney with the Colegio de Abogados de Madrid.

Nonprofit

Jillian S. Martinelli and Gloria E.R. Fann have joined Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy.

Martinelli is director of fundraising. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree in English and from the College of Charleston.

Fann is office manager. She has a bachelor’s degree in religious studies from the College of Charleston.

Pharmacy

Joey Kroll has joined Delta Pharmacy & Medical Supply as pharmacist in charge for its downtown Charleston location. Previously, he was a pharmacist-in-charge with Walgreens in Winston-Salem, N.C. He has more than five years of pharmacy experience.

Real estate

Jeremy Willits has been named a principal at Avison Young. He is the managing director of the commercial real estate firm’s Charleston region office and manages the leasing and sales of over 600,000 square feet of office space. He with been the firm and its predecessors since 1997. He has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Guilford College.

Sports

Peter Parker and David Cullins has been promoted at the Charleston RiverDogs.

Parker is food and beverage manager Previously, he was picnic and commissary kitchen area manager

Cullins is sales representative. Previously, he was box office manager. He has a bachelor’s degree in recreation and sport management from Coastal Carolina University.

Also, Kristen Wolfe has joined the RiverDogs as special events manager. She has a bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston.
