The College of Charleston will serve as host of the first S.C. Supply Chain Summit, it was announced last week.
The event will be March 22 in the School of Business Beatty Center at 5 Liberty St.
It’s expected to draw industry experts and academic leaders. Panel discussions will focus on topics that include the port, ground transportation and warehousing.
“A statewide summit is an opportunity to cross-collaborate and transfer knowledge among industry and higher education leaders with supply chain and logistics disciplines,” says state Commerce Secretary Bobby Hitt, whose agency is one of the sponsors.
“With its long history in supply chain management education, the College of Charleston is well-positioned to spearhead the first such summit of its kind in the state.”
The events include a keynote speech by Hitt and a presentation by State Ports Authority CEO Jim Newsome.
