MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- A wax museum that opened in the 1960s in Hollywood is talking with Myrtle Beach officials about opening a branch there.
The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reported the Hollywood Wax Museum is working to move into the former NASCAR Cafe building off U.S. 17 Bypass.
The city's Community Appearance Board will discuss the museum Thursday, although no plans have been submitted. The earliest the board could vote on it is next month.
Museum spokeswoman Aileen Stein declined to give specifics about the project. Building owners Burroughs & Chapin Co. Inc. declined to comment.
The Myrtle Beach City Council got a first look at the design Tuesday.
In addition to Hollywood, the wax museum also is located in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., and Branson, Mo.
