If you see a swarm of law enforcement officers on the Yorktown today, donít get alarmed.
More than 225 officers from 30 agencies across the state are attending a seminar on aggressive criminal enforcement.
Attendees will hear remarks from Charleston County Sheriff Al Cannon and Mount Pleasant Police Chief Carl Ritchie as well as other presentations.
Coordinated by Sgt. Pat Carter of the Mount Pleasant Police Department, the seminar is a way for the agencies to gain valuable skills and to share best practices in a unique setting.
Patriots Point is offering the Yorktown free of charge for the seminar because of the support officers provide in the community.
The all-day seminar in the Smokey Stover Theatre on board the World War II-era aircraft carrier concludes at 4 p.m.
