City police release composite sketch of suspect in armed robbery

Charleston police on Friday released a police artist’s sketch of a suspect in an armed robbery that took place Jan. 3 in front of 1940 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard.

Charleston police on Friday released a police artist’s sketch of a suspect in an armed robbery that took place Jan. 3 in front of 1940 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard.

The suspect was described as a black man, about 6 to 6 feet, 2 inches tall, 140 to 150 pounds, with a dark complexion. He was wearing black Air Force One shoes, and a dark hoodie with a red shirt underneath. He had a scruffy beard and a notable scar under his eye.

The robber pulled out a kitchen knife and demanded the victim’s belongings.
