CofC North Campus and Lowcoutry Graduate Center looking for a new home
The College of Charleston’s North Campus and the Lowcountry Graduate Center for years have been housed in a building near the Charleston International Airport, but that will change before June 2014.
The South Carolina Research Authority, from which the schools lease space, announced last month that is would sell three buildings to Boeing, including the one in which the schools are housed. Boeing plans to expand operations near the airport.
Steve Osborne, the college’s executive vice president for business affairs, said the college is looking for space for now. It’s important to find suitable space as soon as possible, Osborne said, because the college likely will need time for renovations.
Provost George Hynd said the college plans to expand programs and offerings after it is settled in its new space.
