Brian McGee, chief of staff and senior policy adviser at the College of Charleston, is a finalist for the job of president at Kansas Wesleyan University.
Leaders at the Salina school have chosen three finalists. In addition to McGee, they are considering Roger Drake, vice president of finance at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Ky., and Matthew Thompson, vice president for advancement at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Fla.
“I have a wonderful job at the College of Charleston,” McGee said. “But I might like the opportunity to lead and am looking forward to the interview.”
The Salina Journal reports the presidential search committee chose the finalists from eight candidates. The men will visit the campus in the next two weeks to meet with faculty, staff and students. The next president will replace Fletcher Lamkin who resigned last June after a two-year tenure marked by controversy as many employees resigned or were fired.
