Ladson man arrested Thursday in connection with Woodside Manor shootout in Nov.
Charleston County deputies on Thursday arrested a Ladson man accused of firing shots toward a home in the Woodside Manor neighborhood after he overhead his girlfriend with another man, authorities say.
Deputies charged Broddrek Cobb, 20, of U.S. Highway 78, with discharging a firearm at a dwelling in connection with the incident, which happened on Nov. 12, sheriff’s Maj. Jim Brady said.
A woman who identified herself as the suspect’s girlfriend told deputies that Cobb called her on that date and got upset when he heard another man in the background.
That man heard Cobb yelling, took the phone from the woman and told Cobb to “stop speaking to a female like that,” a Charleston County Sheriff’s Office affidavit states.
Moments after the conversation ended, according to the woman, Cobb showed up at the Logwood Drive home and started shooting.
The woman told deputies the man she was with also fired shots toward Cobb.
Cobb was being held at the Charleston County jail. A judge set his bail at $50,000, according to court records.
